Event: 2-Day Conference: Expressions of Contemporary Shamanism in 21st Century Scotland.

Dates: Saturday 20 October - Sunday 21 October 2012.
Time: Registration: 9.30am-10am. Conference Days: 10am-5pm.
Event Description: The format would allow for opening and closing large group ceremonies, discussions, panel explorations of Shamanic topics, and drumming/singing/dancing. However, a key feature of each morning and afternoon session would be participants attending one 90-minute workshop.

Purpose of Gathering:

1. To provide opportunities for people unfamiliar or somewhat familiar with Shamanism to meet Shamanic practitioners in Scotland and experience some of the diversity in their ways of teaching and practicing.

2. To give established Scottish-based Shamanic practitioners an opportunity to share with participants their ways of walking, sharing, and/or teaching a Shamanic path or way of being.

3. To offer both large and small group ceremonies and Shamanic experiences to all participants. 

4. To acknowledge the diversity of contemporary expressions of Shamanism in 21st century (C21) Scotland, including the emergence of new Shamanic practitioners with their own unique forms of Shamanic practice.

5. To explore the desirability, feasibility, and usefulness of establishing a Network of Shamanic Practitioners in Scotland.
