Event: Day Workshop: Christian and Sufi Approaches to Spiritual Healing.
Facilitators: Rev Prof Stephen G. Wright and Murshid Saadi Shakur Chishti (Dr Neil Douglas-Klotz).
Venue: Meeting Room, Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh, EH1 2JL.
Time: 9.30am for 10am-4.30pm.
Event Description: Both the Christian and Sufi traditions have a long history of spiritual healing. Throughout the ages, mystics of both traditions have emphasised the essential blessing of creation and our ability to return to or remain in contact with our divine image through various forms of spiritual healing practice. In this day workshop, the facilitators will explore together these themes and practices of spiritual healing including silence, contemplative prayer, breathing and body awareness, the healing power of ritual, laying on of hands, walking meditation and ways to open to the healing power of Nature. There will also be space for sharing experiences of healing and an emphasis on practical healing wisdom for everyday life.
