Event Description: Most of us lead a pretty full worldly life with lots of sensual pleasures, money and lots of toys to play with. Perhaps, over time, we can see that this path of accumulating worldly possessions does not lead to lasting happiness or contentment.
Letting go – living a very simple life, trying to purify your life and to make a centre within yourself, a stillness and peace. This letting go is not a big sacrifice where you must grit your teeth while preparing to renounce, rather, it unfolds naturally – like a child outgrowing their toys.

Event Description: This classic text, written in the 14th century by Gyalse Thogme Zangpo, is a training manual for would-be Bodhisattvas – those dedicated to attaining Enlightenment out of compassion for the world. These verses elucidate how to overcome our self centeredness, learn to respond to difficult situations in a constructive way and come to cherish all other beings as the source of all happiness.
Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is a renowned Buddhist teacher, popular worldwide for her warm, clear and down-to-earth presentation of the Dharma and its application in daily life.
Born in London, she travelled to India in 1964 and soon after, at the age of 21, she took ordination as a Tibetan Buddhist nun.
The inspiring story of her life, including 12 years of secluded retreat in a Himalayan cave, is the subject of a well-known biography, Cave in the Snow.
She has written two books Into the Heart of Life and Reflections on a Mountain Lake.
In 2008 Tenzin Palmo was given the title of Jetsunma, which means Venerable Master, by His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, Head of her lineage, in honour of her achievements.
Jetsunma is the founder and abbess of Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery in Northern India.
NB: This is a 2-Day Workshop, but if a person can only attend for one day, then we are happy to give consideration to this as long as space allows.
There will be a limited number of bursaries so that if anyone wants to attend and genuinely cannot manage the costs, then they are welcome to be in contact to discuss.
Ordained sangha (monks and nuns) can attend as our guests for free, but do need to register.
