Panellists: Audrey Fairgrieve, Deputy Head at Panmure St Ann’s in Edinburgh; Douglas Guest, Former chair of FathersNet Scotland, Co-Creator of Year of the Dad and a member of The Mankind Project; Dylan Meade established the Glasgow School of Art Pornography Society in October of 2014 and has continued to direct it's programme of cultural events including screenings, panel discussions, club nights, group readings, arts and crafts workshops, film productions, and curatorial practices.

Event Description: Spirituality, Compassion and Addiction: Pornography kills love. In the US and Australia it is being treated as a public health issue. The internet makes all kinds of extreme material available to anyone with a smartphone. That means over 90% of children. What impact does regular interaction with internet pornography have on on self identity, compassion and thus relationships? Is it addictive? Hear about the challenges faced by parents and teachers as they deal with this new phenomenon that has developed since the advent of broadband. How can we prevent harm and what are the best strategies for recovery? The discussion will be led by Mary Sharpe, CEO of The Reward Foundation- Our Brain on Love and Sex, an educational charity based in Edinburgh. The charity delivers workshops to schools and professional organisations and has a website open to all that provides the latest research on this emerging social issue.
