The State of the Mind-Body-Spirit Movement:
More people are turning to natural and holistic ways of coping for health and wellbeing than ever before. The meditation market is expected to grow to nearly $32 billion in 2032, according to MarketResearch.biz, while traditional church attendance continues to dwindle. Integrative Medicine is forecast to grow 22% between 2022 to 2030, while the NHS and other conventional health institutions struggle to survive. Even the astrology and Tarot card markets are booming with a combined value of $14 billion and expected growth.
Is this a sign that society is seeking greater meaning and awakening -- or is it simply a consumer trend of the "woo-woo"?
"The State of the Mind-Body-Spirit" report by Mindstream Ventures aims to answer this by assessing the awareness, participation and acceptance of beliefs and behaviours around Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM), natural health and spiritual growth disciplines. This report is the first attempt to define, size and study the mind-body-spirit scene, which is a vast yet disparate collection of largely cottage industries that are unregulated or self-regulated.
Mindstream founder and editor Liza Horan, who produced this report in association with the University of Aberdeen's Institute of Applied Health Sciences, presents highlights of the first-of-its-kind report for discussion among panelists and attendees.
