Due to the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and due to continued uncertainty about distancing, then some EICSP events have had to be postponed and rescheduled, and this has led to a reduction in the usual income for EICSP.

Event Description: The conference themes will include the following:

 
 
 
 
 
1. the formation of Tagore's spirituality and the evidence of it in his artistic endeavours
 
2. the contribution of Tagore's spirituality to his action at home and in the world and to his outlook on world affairs
 
2.1. evidence of Tagore's spirituality in his international contacts, his ideas on politics and the nation and nationalism and a consideration of how his spirituality may have been affected by, or changed by, his action in the world
 
2.2. the contemporary relevance of Tagore and of his spirituality
 
3. evidence of Tagore's spirituality in his educational and socio-cultural endeavours
 
4. evidence of Tagore's spirituality in his dialogues with Gandhi and other political and spiritual leaders of his time
 
5. linking the themes raised to Scotland - to Scots that Tagore had contact with, and to Scotland today.
 
NB: 'full' refers to full price, 'concession' to concession price

Detailed Schedule:
 
Event: Film Screening: 'Life Goes On' directed by Dr Sangeeta Datta will be introduced by the film critic, Piyush Roy.

The screening will be followed by an interview with the director by Pyush Roy, and then opened up to questions from the floor.

The evening will be chaired by Paul Holmes of Edinburgh Napier University.

Friday 7 November 2014.

11.50am-12.20pm: Plenary address: Evidence of Tagore's spirituality in his international contacts, his ideas on politics and the nation and nationalism and a consideration of how his spirituality may have been affected by, or changed by, his action in the world: Tagore´s Spirituality from the perspective of Gender Analysis: Dr Blanka Knotkova.
